Hyundai Teams Up With Maroon 5 To Pay Tribute To Bob Marley Ahead Of 2018 Fifa World Cup Russia Celebrations

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA – Hyundai Motor Company, the Official Partner of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™, has teamed up with multi-platinum GRAMMY Award winning US pop rock band Maroon 5, to pay tribute to reggae legend Bob Marley by covering his iconic feel good hit ‘Three Little Birds’ for its new brand campaign.

Through the music, Hyundai will unite football fans by spreading a message of joy and positivity that reflects its new brand messaging: ‘Hyundai exists to enhance everyday lives with quality time’ – which informs customers about using its smart technology to keep safe and worry free while on the roads.

With its laid back, positive vibes, Three Little Birds is the perfect song to encourage football fans to forget their worries and focus on the tournament as a whole; embracing it as a celebration of sport, rather than experiencing the highs and lows of each match. 

Hyundai and Maroon 5 wanted to keep as close to the original song as possible as a mark of respect for Bob Marley and to capture its original spirit of peace and freedom.  

Shot on location in LA, the accompanying music video is the creative brainchild of critically acclaimed Korean-American film and music video director, Joseph Kahn who has worked with artists including: Lady Gaga, Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mariah Carey and Kylie Minogue, to name a few. In 2003 he won a Grammy and MTV VMA for Eminem’s ‘Without You’. He also recently won a second Grammy for Best Music Video of 2015 for Taylor Swift’s ‘Bad Blood’ ft. Kendrick Lamar.

Joseph Kahn was also responsible for creating the new Hyundai television advert that will be broadcast during the 2018 FIFA WORLD CUP RUSSIA ™.

Microsoft Xbox E3 2018 Briefing Footage

Microsoft Doubles its Game Development Studios and Showcases More Than 50 Games on E3 Stage Including 18 Console Launch Exclusives and 15 World Premieres

LOS ANGELES, USA – Xbox kicked off the 2018 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) with the Xbox E3 Briefing on Sunday, June 10.

The 2018 Xbox E3 Briefing was the largest in Microsoft Corp.’s history with more than 6,000 people, including more than 1,000 fans, invited to attend in the Microsoft Theater. Microsoft announced it is doubling its game development studios and showcased a record 52 games on stage including 18 console launch exclusives and 15 world premieres. The diverse lineup included games for every type of player, from exclusives like “Forza Horizon 4,” “Halo Infinite” and “Gears 5,” and independent titles like “Session,” “Below,” “Ashen” and “Tunic” to some of the biggest blockbuster games coming in the next year like “Fallout 76,” “Tom Clancy’s The Division 2,” “Kingdom Hearts 3,” “Devil May Cry 5,” “Battlefield V,” “Metro Exodus” and “Shadow of the Tomb Raider,” many enhanced to take advantage of the power of Xbox One X.

Microsoft announced it is adding five new creative teams to the Microsoft Studios family. New investments include the formation of a brand-new studio, The Initiative, the acquisition of Playground Games, and letters of intent to acquire Ninja Theory, Undead Labs and Compulsion Games.

The addition of these creative teams reinforces Microsoft’s vision for gaming, which starts with a deep commitment to original content. The company is developing a portfolio of games on every device, including newly announced Microsoft Studios games. Revealed on stage were three new Gears of War titles — “Gears 5,” “Gears Tactics,” “Gears Pop!” — along with “Battletoads,” “Forza Horizon 4” and “Halo Infinite,” a Master Chief story and the next major release in the franchise built from the ground up on the new Slipspace engine.
